1. What are some unusual ways people can practice speaking English?

I just remembered a story about a person who improved his English speaking in a special way. The man really wanted to improve his English, so he became homeless overseas and had been listening to locals’ English in a random park all day, everyday. Finally, his English speaking became really fluent without spending any money on it. I thought this sounds quite extreme but I could understand what actually worked with him. I agree with him that everyone can improve their speaking by listening to the language spoken by native speakers. Listening and Understanding English well enough would be the first step for improving your English speaking skills.

 

2. Why do you think social media challenges are so popular these days?

 

I think social media challenges are brilliant ideas in this era. Social Network Services are effective and perfect marketing tools if you want to advertise and promote something. The object can be literally anything, companies, products, services, groups, celebrities and regular individuals. For social media challenges, more and more people will be exposed to the participants’ posts which brings new participants.

 

3. Can you imitate any celebrities? What is unique about the way they talk?

 

I am not really talented in that part, so I can’t. Imitating celebrities requires you to watch and practice how they act and talk, but I haven’t been interested in the process. In the last couple of years I have been doing shadowing practice to improve my English speaking skills, so I can tell what makes them have a special and unique part when they talk. It would be their own accents, tones, speed when speaking, gestures, face and non-verbal expressions.
