1. How is a skincare specialist different from a dermatologist?

 

In my opinion, skin care specialists are more focused on aesthetic purposes and dermatologists are curing skin diseases like fungus and skin cancer. On Google, some pages say dermatologists and skin specialists are the same, so skin specialist is just the other term for dermatologist. Another page says skincare specialists are estheticians, cleanse and exfoliate, wax and laser, moisturize and apply makeup to enhance a person's overall appearance. I think the second meaning is more common in Korea.

True beauty comes from striking a balance between inner and outer beauty though, I believe that skin care is important for the process of aging gracefully. I think skincare specialists and dermatologists should take great pride in their work.

 

2. What do you do to maintain healthy skin? Describe your skincare routine.

 

I try to drink more water and take vitamin C. I don’t dry my face with a towel and only use a cotton pad soaked with a calming skin toner. I usually put only one moisturizer, aloe vera gel or Cetaphil lotion. Sometimes If I have some pimples or rashes, I put some modeling pack on my face and use some specific products which are good for the skin issues.

 

3. Describe a treatment you have received to improve your appearance.

 

Recently, one of my friends started skin care at her own beauty salon so I could get ultrasound lifting care from her place with fancy machines. It was really good and left my skin really smooth for a few weeks. I really love and enjoy having this kind of skin treatment but it's quite expensive so I just try to do home skin care more nowadays.
