1. Do you enjoy cooking? Why or why not?

 

I do enjoy cooking. I used to feel too lazy to cook for a while but I think I am a pretty good cook. I used to cook Korean dishes at home before, nowadays I cook various national dishes and Aussie style dishes since I started to order meal kit weekly services last month. One of my clients and my coworker recommended HelloFresh and EveryPlate and I started to order them right away. Actually it's a lot cheaper than buying all the groceries, the ingredients are fresher and the menus are various with great tastes. Also it helps my daily English slightly because I have to understand all the recipes before I cook.

 

2. What is your favorite dish to cook? Explain how you prepare it.

 

My favorite dish to cook at the moment would be salmon steak and spinach salad. Main reason that it’s my favorite is because I love the taste of the dish the most. Since all the ingredients are fresh and ready to cook, I can just wash the ingredients and follow the recipe. I cut all the veggies, put them all in to oven or air fryer, sometimes with some olive oil, salt and pepper, press the salmon into the prepared seasoning, turning to coat, cook the salmon until just cooked through, 4-5 minutes each side, make salad with the spinach leaves, the baked veggies, vinegar, sesame oil, salt and pepper, toss gently to combine, place all of them on the plates nicely and drizzle with some dressing to serve.

 

3. What are some concerns people have about meal kits? How might they be resolved?

 

Some people are concerned about the ingredients' freshness, the source of them and delivery stability. Meal kit companies should disclose the source of the ingredients clearly and make sure to use a reliable delivery company.

 

1.요리하는 거 좋아하세요? 그렇거나 아니라면 이유는?

 

요리하는 거 좋아해요. 한동안 요리하기가 귀찮긴 했지만 저는 요리를 꽤 잘해요. 전에는 집에서 한식을 요리했었지만 요즘에는 다양한 나라의 요리들, 호주식 요리들을 만들어요. 저번달부터 주간 밀키트 서비스를 주문하기 시작했거든요. 미용실 손님이랑 같이 일하는 직원이 HelloFresh랑 Everyplate를 추천해주자마자 바로 주문을 하기 시작했어요. 실제로 이게 마트에서 직접 장을 보는 것보다 더 저렴해요, 재료들도 더 신선하고, 메뉴들도 맛있고 다양해요. 게다가 요리하기 전에 매번 영어로 된 레시피를 읽고 이해해야 해서 제 일상생활 영어에도 조금은 도움이 되는 것 같아요.

 

2.무슨 요리를 만드는 걸 제일 좋아해요? 어떻게 만드는지 설명해주세요.

 

요즘 제일 만들기 좋아하는 요리는 연어 스테이크랑 시금치 샐러드인데 이유는 그게 제일 맛있어서예요. 밀키트에 있는 모든 재료가 신선하고 바로 요리할 수 있도록 준비가 되어 있어서 그냥 재료를 씻고 조리법만 따라서 만들면 돼요. 야채를 전부 썰고, 오븐이나 에어프라이어에 넣어요, 가끔 올리브 오일, 소금, 후추를 뿌리고요. 연어를 준비해둔 양념 시즈닝을 묻혀서 재우고 완전히 익을 때까지 후라이팬에 익혀요. 각각 한쪽면당 4-5분씩 익혀요. 샐러드는 시금치, 구운 야채, 식초, 참기름, 소금, 후추를 넣고 잘 섞어주면 돼요. 만든 연어스테이크랑 샐러드를 접시에 예쁘게 올리고 드레싱을 위에 뿌려주면 완성입니다.

 

3.밀키트에 대해 사람들이 가장 걱정하는 부분이 뭘까요? 어떻게 그 문제를 해결할 수 있을까요?

 

사람들은 재료의 신선도와 출처, 배송의 안정성에 대해 걱정을 하더라고요. 밀키트 회사들은 재료의 출처를 투명하게 밝히고 안정적이고 믿을만한 배송회사를 이용해야 할 것 같아요.
