** Grammar Focus

The present tense of the formal polite style in Korean is made by adding -(스)ㅂ니다.
It is used mainly in formal or public situations as in the military, new broadcasts, presentations, meetings, and lecture.

* Declarative

- Word Stem Ends in Vowel : -ㅂ니다
- Word Stem Ends in Consonant : -습니다

* Interrogative

- Word Stem Ends in Vowel : -ㅂ니까?
- Word Stem Ends in Consonant : -습니까?

* Word Stem Ends in Vowel

- 가다 (to go)
가 + -ㅂ니다 : 갑니다 (Declarative)
가 + -ㅂ니까? : 갑니까? (Interrogative)

- 오다 (to come)
오 + -ㅂ니다 : 옵니다 (Declarative)
오 + -ㅂ니까? : 옵니까? (Interrogative)

- 먹다 (to eat)
먹 + -습니다 : 먹습니다 (Declarative)

- Ends in Vowel + -ㅂ니다, -ㅂ니까?
