STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS

1. Describe your favorite food to eat for each season.

My favorite foods to eat for each season used to be some spring season Korea's foods. I really liked Artemisia princeps (쑥), Shepherd's Purse (냉이), Allium monanthum (달래) in soybean paste soup (miso soup). When I was a little kid, my bronchial tubes were really weak, so my mom cooked a lot of healthy dishes for my health, especially for my throat.

Foods that are in season provide comfort for our bodies and minds.

I had airway issues (problems)

Nowadays, people seek out in-season ingredients in order to eat healthy and you can find them easily since we always have enough food to go around.

2. Share a favorite recipe for preparing fresh, in-season ingredients.

Today I cooked lettuce soup with some mushrooms. I usually try to keep the taste of the ingredients themselves when cooking the fresh, in-season ingredients. Keeping the ingredient’s taste is always the best recipe.

3. What are the pros and cons of processed or preserved foods?

The example for processed foods could be canned SPAM, for preserved one could be Salami.

The biggest difference between them is the price. Processed foods are mostly cheaper than the other and very easy to keep for a long time. Preserved foods are much better for your health but you need a lot of time and effort to prepare the preserved foods.
