What’s worse, one-sided love or both liking each other but not being able to be together?
짝사랑과 서로 좋아하지만 함께할 수 없는 사랑 중 어떤 게 더 힘들까요?

Both can be painful, but I think mutual love without a future feels harder because the feelings are real yet still out of reach.

둘 다 고통스러울 수 있지만, 진심이 오갔는데도 미래가 없는 사랑이 더 힘든 것 같습니다.
서로의 마음이 진짜인데도 닿을 수 없다는 게 더 어렵게 느껴진다고 생각합니다.

What’s worse, one-sided love or both liking each other but not being able to be together?

 

I think the answer really depends on the situation and the emotions involved.

It is hard to say which is worse without knowing the full story behind each case.

You never truly understand how something feels until you are in that exact situation.

But if I had to choose, I think the second one might feel harder for me.

When two people like each other but still cannot be together for some reason, it can feel even more painful because the feelings are mutual.

There is something especially heartbreaking about knowing the other person feels the same, yet the circumstances keep you apart.

It might be timing, distance, life goals, or personal responsibilities.

Whatever the reason is, that sense of "what if" can stay in your heart for a long time.

 

With one-sided love, at least you eventually realize the other person does not feel the same, and that clarity might help you move on.

Of course, unrequited love hurts too, especially when your feelings are deep and sincere.

But sometimes it is easier to accept the truth and slowly let go.

On the other hand, in mutual love that is blocked by real-life limitations, letting go can feel like giving up on something truly meaningful.

 

That being said, I do not think anyone can fully judge which is more painful unless they have experienced both.

Every relationship has its own story, and each person reacts differently depending on their emotional world.

So instead of trying to decide which is worse, maybe it is more important to acknowledge and respect the feelings each situation brings.
