If you could choose your own name what would it be? why?
If I could choose my own name, I would choose the name 'Jin'.
At first, I was going to answer that I wouldn’t change my names I currently have and that I am satisfied with my own names in Korean and English as they are, but I changed my mind because I actually like something simple.
I like the name 'Jin' because it's just one syllable and simple, yet it's also a pretty name for a girl.
The meaning of the name is 'authentic' in Korean and it sounds beautiful too.
If my name had been Jin when I was born, I wouldn't have needed to choose another English name back then because it's already a great name to use as an English name.
My English name Jessica was chosen by my Skype English tutor quite a long time ago, around 8 years ago.
I had become used to being called Jessica for a while, so I haven't changed it since then, and I still like my English name as it is.
While I am content with my current name, I believe that having a name that reflects my interests and personality would be an added bonus.
Ultimately, I believe that a name is an important part of one's identity, and having a name that reflects who you are can be both empowering and uplifting.
