1. Do you like young children? Why or why not? How do you interact with them?

 

To be honest, I don't really like young children. In more detail, I don't like naughty and mean young children but I love well-behaved kids a lot. It depends on how they behave. When I was younger, I used to have to look after neighborhood kids often. I have a kind of traumatic experience with mean kids, so I don't really like to interact with naughty kids after that. I can't avoid meeting many kids at my workplace but if they are good kids, I can interact with them happily.

 

2. Describe how elementary schools have changed since you were a child.

 

Elementary schools have changed a lot since I graduated. The number of members of classes became a lot smaller, schools have more systematic student management nowadays, facilities are more fancy and teachers treat students much better.

 

3. How has COVID-19 changed the way children attend classes?

 

COVID-19 changed the way children attend classes a lot. Students have been attending classes through videoconferencing since all the face to face classes stopped. Kids were having freedom and losing scholastic achievements at the same time with this situation.

 

1. 어린 아이들을 좋아하세요? 그렇거나 아니라면 이유는? 당신은 그들과 어떻게 교류합니까?

 

솔직히, 나는 아이들을 별로 좋아하지 않는다. 좀 더 구체적으로 말하자면, 버릇없고 못된 아이들은 싫어하지만 착한 아이들은 정말 좋아한다. 내가 아이들을 좋아하는 건 전부 아이들이 어떻게 행동하느냐에 달려 있다. 어렸을 때 나는 이웃집 아이들을 종종 돌봐야 했다. 나는 못되먹은 아이들에 대한 트라우마를 가지고 있어서 그 이후로 못된 아이들과 시간을 보내는 것을 별로 좋아하지 않는다. 직장에서도 항상 많은 아이들을 만나게 되는데 착한 아이라면 기꺼이 그 아이들과 즐겁게 시간을 보낼 수 있다.

 

2. 당신이 어렸을 때 이후로 초등학교가 어떻게 변했는지 얘기해주세요.

 

내가 졸업한 이후 초등학교는 많이 변했다. 학급 구성원 수가 많이 줄어들었고, 요즘 학교는 학생 관리도 더 체계화되었고, 시설도 더 좋아졌고, 선생님들도 학생들을 훨씬 더 잘 대해주고 있다.

 

3. COVID-19가 어린 학생들이 수업에 참석하는 방식을 어떻게 바꾸었나요?

 

코로나바이러스감염증-19 사태는 아이들이 수업에 참여하는 방식을 많이 바꾸었다. 학생들은 대면 수업이 모두 중단되면서 화상회의를 통해서 수업을 듣고 있다. 이런 상황 속에서 아이들은 자유를 누리는 동시에 학업 성취도가 점점 떨어지고 있다.
